Woke up and had a breakfast of papaya, bananas, toast, and eggs. Then kids went out to explore on their own while Mommy and Daddy talked with the owner to figure out our next leg of travel. We also were given a tour of the yard so that we could see all of the different plants. They had peppercorn vines, grapefruit, curry trees, jack fruit trees, olive trees, mango trees, pepper plants, tomato plants, and an assortment of fruit that did not have a name to translate and that we had never seen before.
While having our discussions, Saoirse came running back to tell us she thought Cai had leeches on his feet. While waiting for Cai and Tekla to make it back, Saoirse explained that Cai was complaining about caterpillars eating his feet. Sure enough, Cai had leeches. They took care of his feet while Daddy washed out his shoes. About fifteen minutes later, Daddy noticed that he had a leech in the middle of his palm. It had not made it through the skin yet.
Later, Mommy and Cai stayed up at the house resting while the rest of the family went ALL THE WAY DOWN to the waterfalls below the house with one of the owners. However, once we were at the bottom, and had fun wading in the water, the owner informed us that we would have to keep moving steadily to keep the leeches off of us again. Did I mention how far down it was? When we got back to the house, everyone stripped and inspected everyone for leeches, with Mommy supervising. Daddy won for having the highest leeches (mid-thigh), but Saoirse won for having the most bits penetrating the skin.
