Day Four

Fourth and final day on our birthday excursion.

People were a bit tired to start with so we wern't expecting to stay all day, but the kids did very well. It was Mom and Dad who pooped out first. Good thing the park was closing early and we could blame that as our reason for leaving. Tomorrow they are opening the new Star Wars ride that Mom and Dad would have been thrilled to go on, but the kiddos probably would not have wanted to join them.

We did enjoy a few live action shows. Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid were deemed a hit by the girls and even Cai clapped.

While Mommy and the kids ate our Nutella and peanut butter, or plain nutella for the allergic, Daddy went on a movie ride to check out the "scarry-ness". While we waited some currious ducks stalked the messy eaters. Then some "cast members" pulled out some hoola-hoops and bubbles. All 4 kids had a blast playing with them and were reluctant to go. However, when Daddy came back and said the "scarry parts" were very short and the rest of the ride was fun they decided to go.

Though Cai is normally weary of strangers, aparently that caution does not apply to charactors. Each chance he had to meet one he happily ran up to them and gave them a big hug and high fives. (Waiting in line was not a easy thing for him though)

At the annimation exhibit the kids loved using the touch screens to paint characters.

again, and again...

(and no, I'm not that badly sunburned, it was the reflection off the lights)

The day ended with playing at the "Honey I Shrunk the Kids" playground.

Now all littles are in bed and asleep...and the big people are finishing some laundy/packing so we can join them.

Day Three - Saoirse's Birthday and Celebrating the other three as well.

We headed back to the Magic Kingdom today and got "Birthday" buttons for each of the kids. The wonderful thing about these buttons are that every "Cast Member" (WDW employee) told the kids "Happy Birthday!" when they saw the buttons.

(by the way we stoped to get a new camera that will hopefully last longer than the last one - by a lot)

Saoirse's birthday dinner was at a family style resturant in Liberty Square. We are seriously considering having Thanksgiving dinner there now. Anyone want to join us?

Day Two

Animal Kingdom
Jael and Tekla went on their first real roller coster - Expedition Everest. Tekla looked a little green at the end and didn't want to go again. Jael didn't like the spooky Yetti and thought it might not have been so bad it it wern't for that. None of the girls liked the Bugs Life 3-D show. It was a little too real. By 3pm everyone was wiped out and we called it a day.
(By the way, no pictures today. They were lost when the camera fried the card.)

Day one, Part two

Dinner ended up being late instead of early, so we didn't get back to the park till late. We had time for a few rides before the fireworks started.

The girls had been begging to go to the Haunted Mansion, so we relented and went after the fireworks. None of them wanted to go back a second time for some reason.

We made it back to he car around 11:30 and all children were asleep by the time we were on the road back to apartment. Luckily the two oldest woke enough to walk up the stairs. I'm not sure how Mama or Daddy would have been able to carry them if they hadn't. The plan was to sleep in the next morning. Was the plan.

Birthday Trip - Day one part one

In celebration of all 4 kids' birthdays, we decided to get tickets to Disney World in lieu of a party. None of the kids seemed to complain about the lack of party, and seemed fine that a family vacation would be suffice. We didn't tell them where we were going, just when and the trip would end with my dear cousin's wedding. That was exciting enough.

There wasn't as much squealing as we thought, and we were amazed that it didn't occur to them where we were going until we actually arrived. After a full morning (actually till about 1pm) we headed back to the hotel. (We found a great deal on a 3 bedroom place with a full kitchen for under $70/night.) We ate a late lunch and then everyone laid down for a rest. At least 4 are snoreing, and Jael is looking at books while I type. We will be having an early dinner and then head back for a late night of more fun!
