While Mommy and Mordecai were in the hospital....

On Saturday, we went to Fairchild Tropical Garden.

The day was beautiful, slightly cool in the morning so we got see a lot of the repitles sunning themselves.

We found a wonderful tree to climb on and around. (Between two of the roots was a dead iguana, about 2 feet long, that froze to death from the cold wave. All I could do to get Tekla not to pick it up.)

The rock ledge is the girls favorite viewing area in the park. They love sitting up there and watching the birds down by the water. The rock ledge is part of a rock ridge the runs the length of Maimi and is an up thrust area.

And our little climber......we probably would have gotten in trouble if anyone saw he.

The previous few weeks had been cool enough that lots of the fish in the ponds had been killed. We found an opportunistic turtle eating on the dead ones. He was cautious around us, but not afraid. Jael kept on discribing how he bit it, then reached up with one claw to tear the fish apart.

The Gardens has a rain forest section with a really neat waterfall that the girls liked. They kept trying to find different rainbows in the mist.

On Sunday, we went to church then home for quite time. After a short quite time (because very one of them was wake), we did a little practice of blowing bubbles with soapy water.

After that, it was a chance for dress up.
