Cinderella days

Just as things were getting back to a "normal", poor little Cai ended up in the Hospital with the flu. He is on the mend now but when he and Mommy returned home, it was evident that the house needed some attention. Since the family came to visit at Christmas, the house cleaning just hadn't been caught up. So, Mommy declared the next 2 days a "Cinderella days". The girls like Cinderella days because Mommy finds new and fun things for them to clean. Jael and Tekla learned to scrub toilets and Mommy even squirt the cleaner in this time! They also got wet wipes to scrub spots on the tile as Mommy sweeped. The dirtiest wipes got a piece of candy...it was a 3 way tie! After one full day of cleaning up stairs, and another half day cleaning downstairs, Mommy declaired the house as clean as it was going to get.

As a reward for all their hard work (my little "Cinderellas" get thanked) I agreed to let them bake cookies with me and even decorate them. We found a recipe in one of their cook books for spiced cookies and set to work. When it came to the decorateing I worked really hard to let them do it all themselves. Aren't these the most wonderful cookies you ever saw?
