First tastes of basketball

Jael has been looking forward to playing basketball since we signed her up in November. Last Saturday was her first "game". Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on how you look at it, there are only 5 girls in her age group signed up in this league. The coordinator offered to apply the fees we had paid toward next year's, but we and the other parents were pleased that they were just teaching our girls basketball basics, so we declined. One of the coaches older daughters steps in and acts as an extra body so they can play 3 on three. The benefit is they get a lot of play time and plenty of instruction. They also get called out on the field by name so everyone can clap for them. Jael has enjoyed it so much she thanked both Daddy and Mommy for signing her up.
