To help Cai pick up his cars I helped him set up his new race track on the table with the car tub at the end. This, to no surprise brought the big sisters in to "help". They enthusiastically played with a little physics while getting the playroom picked up a little. That is, until they adjusted the track just enough to shoot the cars across the room and then it became an experiment of what car can fly the farthest...
Jael, also, would like to introduce her new American Doll. It was a challenge to save up to buy it herself, but with the help of the gift card sent by Grandma R and Papa F, she was able to order her at last. The little sisters (and brother) have all admired her and get short turns holding her. "Elizabeth" is being lovingly and gently cared for.
New Years Eve was spent with a game of Equate (think - Scrabble with math equations) between Tekla, Daddy, and Mommy (Jael was preoccupied by the recent arrival of Elizabeth). We were rather impressed with Tekla's skill at this game. We did remove the fractions for now, but she was able to come up some rather complex equations for a 1st grader (her first play was a division problem).
After the game was over we watched a Discovery Prehistoric Creatures series and a couple Pink Panther cartoons till mid night. Cai made it till around 10pm, and Saoirse and Daddy were snoring around 11. After 12am, we went to bed listening to all the fireworks. (The fireworks subsided around 3am)
