The Marvelous New Toy

After 11 years of no TV Mommy finality gave the ok...but not to hook it up to cable or an antenna. Nope so we can play video games! Not just video games either, the kind that get you up and moving - really moving.

Daddy talked Mommy into the Kinect system. It is great activity for kids when going out isn't an option, and it is great entertainment for Mommy. Really, it is a hoot to watch them! Some had a really hard time not dancing too much; apparently that confuses the system.

A little Cai action

Since the girls have been getting most of the screen time lately I thought a little video of the Boy was over due. While big sisters were resting up due to a bug, he was practicing some foot ball throwing.

Saoirse was helping him a bit with his form.

Basketball and Cheerleading

We are into another season of Basketball. This year Tekla really wanted to do cheer leading, so we let her sign up for that instead. Her coach from last year was a little disappointed because the K5-1st grade team was too small to even play 3 on 3 (and there is only one team in this age group). When I mentioned Saoirse was too young but would love to play he invited her to join them for practice. She was a little hesitant, so Jael went on the court with her...long story short, Saoirse got signed up, Jael helps by playing, and when Tekla isn't cheering she plays with them too! Jael gets really tired by the time she plays with her team (they play immediately after) but all 3 are really enjoying it.

Just a little update- Jael scored 12 points in her game today, more than anyone else in the game. She was on fire!

Recent Memory work

Here is Saoirse's latest Nursery Rhyme. She had a bit of trouble with this one, and she just had to move while saying it...below is how the rhyme should go.

Here Goes My Lord

Here goes my lord
A trot, a trot, a trot, a trot,
Here goes my lady
A canter, a canter, a canter, a canter!

Here goes my young master
Jockey-hitch, jockey-hitch, jockey-hitch, jockey-hitch!
Here goes my young miss
An amble, an amble, an amble, an amble!

The footman lags behind to tipple ale and wine,
And goes gallop, a gallop, a gallop, to make up his time.

This is her previous memory rhyme. I think it helped that she had already learned part of it for enrichment class.

I have a few more from the older two to upload so stay tuned!

Saoirse is spelling!

Saoirse was so excited to start doing spelling like the big sisters. Just as the novelty was starting to wear off she reached her first spelling dictation. Mommy was a little hesitant since our writing isn't at the same level, but she amazed me!

Cai wanted to share his school work too. He was working hard sorting small objects into egg cartons. He noticed some were beads and started stringing them onto his pipe cleaners. He was busy and quiet for several minutes doing this work.
